Fees and Charges
For “employers”
JOBS
SecurityOfficer.co.nz is free to sign up, receive Job applications from Contractors, review the Contractors portfolio and discuss the Job requirements. If you choose to award the Job to a selected Contractor and the Contractor accepts, we charge you a small fee relative to the value of the selected Job offer, as an introduction fee.
A fee of 30% is levied at the time a Job, that has been awarded by you has been accepted by each Contractor you award.
Cancelling a Job for whatever reason means that the job is cancelled, and the Contractor is no longer obligated to continue any work agreed by you and the Contractor.
Cancelling a Job does not mean that you will be refunded any fees paid by you, refunds are at the sole discretion of SecurityOfficer.co.nz and on a case by case notice.
Optional Job upgrades may be purchased.
Listing a Job advert
At the time of listing a Job advert, “employers” must provide funds to SecurityOfficer.co.nz nominated bank account, equivalent to the total Job advert listing price including any upgrades with its associated additional pricing if any.
Note that refunds are not available on Job listings and this non-refund includes any upgrades with its associated additional pricing if any, that you may have selected.
Services/Jobs
At the time of ordering a service/Job from any Contractor, “employer’s” must provide funds equivalent to the total service/Job price. The payment is protected by the STRIPE New Zealand Escrow Payment System. Only release the payment to the Contractor by clicking work/Job completed once you are 100% happy with the work/service or Job that has been delivered.
For Contractors
It is Free for Contractors to sign up, create a profile, select skills that are applicable to your Job qualifications or ability, receive Job notifications and to discuss Job details with the “employer”.
Service and Jobs
Contractors will pay in the form of credits to apply to do the Job or service. Credits are valued at a, 1 for 1 ratio meaning that, 01 credit is equal to 01 New Zealand doller. Contractors will need a positive credit balance of at least 5 credits to apply to do the service or Job.
Credits
Before you can apply to do a service or Job, you first need to have at least a minimum of 5 credits to apply. Credits may be purchased on site by clicking the credits button located on the top bar of the website or going to your dashboard.
Services
If you are subsequently hired to perform a Service or Job, the full upfront payment for the work to be completed by you will be paid by the “Employer” into a secure Escrow holding account. Security Officer Nz Ltd has partnered with Stripe New Zealand who will hold your payment securely until the service or Job has been completed by you. The funds are released to you when both the “Employer” and Contractor click “Job completed” in your dashboard on the website SecurityOfficer.co.nz
Free Credit Promotion
Contractors who refer new Contractors that do not have an existing account on SecurityOfficer.com and who join and create a new account, will be issued 1 free credit to their account. Both The referring Contractor and the referred Contractor will receive the Free credit. Contractors can find their free credit referral link in the dashboard of the website.
This is subject to the following conditions:
- New Contractors must be referred using the specific promotional link on https://securityofficer.co.nz
- For the avoidance of doubt, the free credit promotion applies only to Contractors.
Other Fees
Jobs
The following fees are optionally charged for additional services.

Maintenance Fee
User Accounts that have not logged in for six months may incur a maintenance fee of up to $10.00 NZD per month until either the account is terminated or reactivated for storage, bandwidth, support and management costs of providing hosting of the user’s profile, portfolio storage, listing in directories, provision of the SecurityOfficer.co.nz services, file storage and message storage.
Taxes
New Zealand residents are subject to GST of 15%. Other government taxes may apply.
